Three-Way Full-Range Array Module Produces Higher SPL While Limiting Amount of Noise Pollution to the Surrounding Areas
MIAMI – When Miami’s Joia Beach Club and Rapture Festival hosted “Independence Beach” during the July 4th weekend, Eastern Acoustic Works’ (EAW®) Anna ADAPTive loudspeaker system kept the party going at the idyllic beachside setting.
Prior to the event, the venue’s management called upon Jorge Tapia from Mix3 Sound Inc., a full-service production company based in south Florida, to design a PA system capable of producing higher SPL in the venue without disturbing the neighbors across the bay. Mix3 Sound provided eight EAW Anna loudspeakers, four EAW SBX218 powered subwoofers and two EAW RL12 speakers for the event.
“We knew how amazing EAW’s Anna system was and how it could be a game changer for the ‘Independence Beach’ event, so we presented it to them as an option,” says Tapia. “The folks at the venue were skeptical at first, but promoter Yusf from Rapture Festival believed in the tech and in us and gave the Anna system a chance. Once the event was running and in full swing, all skeptics became believers.”
“Independence Beach” featured today’s top electronic music talent, performers and spiritualists, alike. The event was headlined by Canary’s vigorous Pablo Fierro and the Burning Man favorite duo Sabo & Goldcap. “Independence Beach” also featured Miami talents Yusf Osiris and Enzo GD.
Anna is the newest introduction to EAW’s flagship line of ADAPTive loudspeaker systems, providing all the benefits of ADAPTive performance in a high-output mid-sized enclosure. Weighing just 135 lbs. (61 kg), the extraordinary output-to-weight ratio makes Anna exceptionally versatile, with applications ranging from small clubs and houses of worship to large arenas and touring productions. Anna’s 100° horizontal dispersion and its steering capabilities further extends its capabilities. Columns of Anna can be flown as mains or mixed with columns of Anya loudspeakers, also part of the ADAPTive line, within the same array for even greater coverage possibilities. Like all ADAPTive Systems, Anna is controlled via Resolution™ 2 software over a Dante™ network and utilizes the same standardized power and data infrastructure.
“The sound and the versatility of the EAW Anna’s were simply fantastic,” adds Tapia. “The venue usually has multiple complaints nightly from neighbors about the sound. The EAW Anna system changes everything, and this speaks volumes for how controlled it really is.”
